Satellite Broadcast
What is Satellite Broadcast?
It is the broadcasting of information from one earth station at one location to another earth station at a different location or multiple locations via Satellite.
How does it work?
Customers either bring their videotape to our Earth Station or allow the Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas (ZNS) to transmit a micro-wave signal from the customer site. BTC would then uplink, the information to INTELSAT who would in turn downlink the information to a domestic satellite.
Is BTC responsible for the entire satellite broadcast?
BTC is only responsible for the satellite uplink, the customer would be responsible for getting the information to BTC’s Earth Station and arranging for its downlink to the domestic satellite.
How do you pay for the satellite broadcast?
You must make payment at our special Services Desk, Technical Sales, Marathon Mall. The amount should be paid in full before the actual satellite broadcast.

- $600.00/first 10 minutes of broadcast
- $20.00/minute for each additional minute of broadcast.
International Customers
(Broadcasting information outside The Bahamas)
- $600.00/first 10 minutes of broadcast
- $20.00/minute for each additional minute of broadcast.
Important Information
When a customer is requesting a Satellite Broadcast the following information needs to be available:
- The date and time of satellite broadcast;
- The length of the broadcast;
- What they want to broadcast (ie: audio/video);
- The distant Earth Station's location and designation;
- Have the remote end place an order with INTELSAT/TVSC for the broadcast.
