BTC opens a new location & announces other new services and initiatives just in time for the Holidays
Nassau, Bahamas, December 8th: Over the last several years the South West District of New Providence has mushroomed into a commercial hub and preferred residential community. As a result, many businesses have expanded their reach to meet the needs of their customers. The Bahamas Telecommunications Company Limited (BTC) has announced that it too has expanded its horizons by opening a Service Centre in the John’s Plaza on Carmichael Road. The company has also announced several new initiatives and campaigns in order to make its products and services more affordable for all.

The Carmichael Road Service Centre was opened on Tuesday December 8th, at the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on location. During his remarks Acting President & CEO I. Kirk Griffin said “This location in the South West District is indeed a significant milestone in the Company’s history. We also view it as a strategic move as we seek to make our services more accessible to the public.”

This new Carmichael Road Service Centre provides convenience by giving easy access to BTC products and services. Customers are able sign up for residential, cellular and high speed internet services. Additionally, customers will be able to pay their phone bills, purchase cellular phone, SIM and phone cards.

“Along with making our services more accessible, we want to ensure that our services are more affordable for our customers. Earlier this year, we rto $39.99 per month and our ‘More Talk’ post-paid voice plans are now as low as $19.99 per month,” Griffin continued.

Customers can visit any BTC retail store and our customer service representatives will be happy to assist with selecting a plan that suites their needs.

The Company has also introduced a new debt collection program called “We’ve Gat your Back”. The campaign is geared towards providing assistance to residential landline and cellular customers whose service has either been suspended or past due. The campaign is a three month initiative which will assist our customers with paying their bills in full over a period of time. Customers with suspended accounts are urged to contact our Credit & Collections Department at 225-5282 in order to make credit agreements. Customers will be afforded the opportunity to make a minimum payment of ten percent of their outstanding bill. Once a commitment is made, customers will be eligible to have their services reconnected (with some restrictions). This offer ends February 28th, 2010.

BTC is also rewarding its residential landline and cellular customers who have paid their accounts in full. Customers with a zero balance on their bills will be eligible to receive $20, $50 or a $100 voucher. The vouchers can be used towards any BTC product or service and redeemed at any Cyber World or BTC Service Centre. Customers will be requested to present their current receipt with a zero balance to the BTC representative hosting the live radio remotes in order to win. Customers who wish to participate are asked to visit our Facebook fan page (www.facebook.com/mybtc), for dates and times of our radio remotes.

In recent weeks, BTC introduced “ViBe on the Go” an additional feature to its ViBe product. ViBe can now be accessed from any landline or cellular phone. The company also introduced “Business ViBe,” a cost effective long distance calling solution for our enterprise customers.

The BTC Carmichael Road Service Centre team has a complement of five employees and is managed by Mrs. Velma Edwards. The hours are 10am-6pm, Monday through Saturday. For more information, please call BTC at 225-5282.
