Nassau, The Bahamas, May 27, 2009. The Bahamas Telecommunications Company Limited (BTC) has made history by winning two international awards for the 2009 Bahamas Telephone Directory. BTC won the silver medal for the Yellow Pages Association’s (YPA) telephone book cover. The company also won the bronze medal of excellence from the Association of Directory Publishers (ADP).

BTC beat out 101 companies across the globe in the YPA’s telephone book cover competition winning the silver medal.
BTC was the third place publisher in the ADP’s Excellence in Print Directories. Two US based companies won first and second prizes which placed The Bahamas first within the Caribbean region.

BTC has worked arduously to completely revamp its Telephone Directory. The Directory is now more customer friendly and is a world class reference tool for residents and visitors alike. This year BTC chose to highlight the Bahamas National Trust for their fifty years of service. New items in the 2009 Telephone Directories include advertising banners, menu pages, coupon pages and an opinion page. BTC also revamped the Government Pages, and included important emergency numbers by island. The directory also includes Information that provide details on financial services, local attractions, events, activities, Bahamian national symbols, essentials from NEMA, and an extensive section on the products and services offered by BTC.
Last year the company also launched its online directory, www.bahamasypages.com. Directory Publications is located in the Summer Winds Plaza on Tonique Williams Darling Highway.
