Nassau, Bahamas, February 8th:The Bahamas Telecommunications Company Limited, BTC held the grand opening ceremony for its Cyber World multi purpose centre on Bay Street on Thursday, February 7th.
President & Chief Executive Officer, Leon Williams said “The opening of Cyberworld on Bay is in keeping with BTC’s commitment to providing the Bahamian public with modern and cost effective telecommunications solutions.”
Cyber World on Bay offers customers all the conveniences of BTC. Customers are able to purchase wireless instruments, sign up for wireless packages, broadband solutions and pay bills all at one stop. Vice President for Wireless and Internet, Tellis Symonette said that Cyber World on Bay “Is like all the functionalities of BTC rolled into one”.
This nineteen hundred square foot Cyber World is the largest BTC phone shop in the country. It is outfitted with contemporary, ultra-modern, state of the art wireless communication solutions. The interactive phone displays gives customers the ability to touch, test and literally make calls on the cell phones. The frost lighting, digital screens and pastel kaleidoscope interior all give the feeling of a futuristic environment.
The BTC Roaming Department is also located in this multi purpose centre. With the hundreds of thousands of tourists that travel to our shores each year, BTC deemed it necessary to place its Roaming Department in Cyber World on Bay. Visitors are now afforded the ability to meet with roaming personnel to discuss any roaming challenges that they may have.
Customers will also have the ability to purchase high tech broadband solutions at Cyber World. The BaTelNet Department carries ViBe and i-Connect, the company’s Voice Over Internet Protocol, (VOIP) service and broadband offerings.
Cyber World also opens its doors during the month of love. In celebration of Valentine’s Day customers that bring in the Cyber World Valentine’s e-flyer will get a thirty percent discount on the LG Chocolate phone.
The Cyber World team has a complement of six employee team members managed by Ms. Morine Prescod. The store is located in the former Mike’s Shoe Store. The Marketing and Public Relations Department is located on the top floor above the building
The store hours are Monday through Saturday from 8:30am to 4:00pm. BTC opened the first Cyber World in the Mall at Marathon on February 4th 2004.
