BTC LAUNCHES VOICEMAIL
Nassau, Bahamas, February 4th: If you have a store bought answering machine after several rings it picks up letting your callers know that they can leave you a message after the tone. Today, The Bahamas Telecommunications Company Limited, BTC launched digital Voicemail for its residential and small office customers in New Providence.

Tagged with the slogan “Did you get the message”, Voicemail from BTC is a digital mailbox that allows your friends, family, and small office associates to leave messages on your home or business phone. There is no additional device for Voicemail as customers are able to access their messages using their telephones. This technology introduced by the company eliminates the need for traditional answering machines.

Vice President for Marketing, Sales and Business Development, Marlon Johnson said “Voicemail provides our customers with the flexibility to check their messages while away from their homes or offices.” Mr. Johnson further noted that “customers do not need to have any further devices, equipments which they would have to set or reset. The voicemail is operational even if the telephone device itself becomes faulty.”

Voicemail is now available at a modest monthly cost of $3.00 for residential customers and $4.00 for small office customers. Activation fees are free until the end of March 2008, and all customers that sign up for Voicemail before June 30th, 2008 will receive one month free after sixty days of service.

To get activated with Voicemail, logon to the BTC Corporate Website, www.btcbahamas.com , click EZPay and follow the quick and easy steps. Activation is instantaneous when signing up through the website. Customers can also call into BTC to activate or they can visit any one of the seven BTC Service Centers throughout New Providence.

In the upcoming months, digital Voicemail will be available for customers in Grand Bahamas or throughout the Family Islands.
