Nassau, Bahamas – November 9th, 2007 – The Bahamas Telecommunications Company Ltd. (BTC) has generously donated more than Eighty-Six Thousand Dollars to the residents of Long Island who were affected by Tropical Storm Noel.
On Thursday November 8th, 2007, BTC applied Twenty Dollars worth of airtime to the more than Four Thousand GSM and TDMA post paid and pre paid customers registered within Long Island. Many residents had to rely solely on their mobile service to communicate with loved ones and friends, due to Tropical Storm Noel flooding the island with large volumes of rain and debris, which damaged landline telecommunication service.
Mr. Marlon Johnson, Vice President Marketing, Sales & Business Development stated that, “This is just one of the various ways BTC is able to display its unparalleled civic involvement and commitment. BTC has been happy to have been able to support the residents of Long Island as they are recovering from the devastation caused by this storm.”
