Nassau, New Providence – October 30th, 2007. The Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) has learned that there are individuals who are engaged in the sale of illegal and fraudulent cellular (GSM and TDMA) cards.
BTC wishes to advise the public that these cards are invalid and that the relevant PINs have been deactivated.
Customers are advised that all legitimate BTC cellular cards clearly bear the Cybercell and BTC logos and are sold through BTC’s authorized distributors.
Customers are also advised to place close attention to the “scratch off” areas of legitimate cards to ensure that the white markings are clearly visible and show no sign of tampering.
Customers with valid and unused BTC issued cards that may have been inadvertently deactivated may come into any one of our customer care locations for a reissue of a card of equal value.
